As part of the agreement between Barcelona Zoo and the Besòs Consortium, some posters have been installed along the side of the river detailing the birds which can easily be spotted in the area around the Besòs, from Montcada i Reixac to the mouth of the river.
The posters were created by Barcelona Zoo and come in three different designs, representing the three sections of the lowest part of the river course: from the wooded banks and adjacent meadows of the highest of these sections, to the mid-section with its abundant reed beds and public space, and ending up at the river mouth and the surrounding area by the sea.
Barcelona Zoo also provided the illustrations for all three posters. The illustrations are divided into two blocks, with panoramic representations of the habitats to be found in each section, and illustrations of the 90 most common species, the easiest to spot.
All you need to do to enjoy this iconic space and its spectacular regeneration of the last few years is to take a good look at the species illustrated on the posters and check which habitat they normally prefer, using your binoculars to enjoy watching them first-hand!
