THE PENGUINS OF JOAN BAPTISTA SCHOOL VISIT THE ZOO

P4 students are the Penguins class and have come to learn many things from the Zoo educator and get to know our penguins: the Humboldt penguins !.

Not only have they seen them eat there are other birds, this time flying, that want to eat their fish. How lucky they are that their zoo keeper is very attentive !.

They don’t live on ice and have been able to see the other species that exist, their predators such as feathers, footprints, skull and their eggs with biological material and have discovered a lot more!

It has been very exciting and made me very penguin!

THE LITTLE FARMERS OF THE JOAN BAPTISTA SCHOOL

Today we have been visited by the small farmers of p3 that has helped us a lot in our tasks as farmers.

First they have visited our animals and have done a dynamic with puzzles to see what they are like and then have been able to learn what the farmers can take advantage of each animal by doing another dynamic to carry each product and place it in front of the animal that is removed.

We continued with the food, they had to bring food to the Gabonese dwarf goats: hay and carrots! Mmmm they loved the carrot trail that they made!

THE CLASS OF WOLVES VISITS TO GORDO AND ARES

The first year students of the Vila Olímpica school, such as the wolf class, have come to meet our pair of Iberian wolves: Gordo and Ares. With them they have not only learned how they live, what they eat, how they reproduce, how they hunt and what dangers they have in nature but they have also learned about the characteristics that mammals must have.

How lucky they were! They were able to see them soooo close !.

THE CLASS OF ELEPHANTS MEETS YOYO, BULLY AND SUSI

The first year students of the Vila Olímpica school, such as the elephant class, have come to meet our African elephants: Yoyo, Susi and Bully. They have learned how they live, what they eat, how they breed, where they come from and what they do at the zoo.

They have seen that they were mammals and the characteristics that the animals of this group must have with the help of biological material carried by the Zoo educator.

Then they went to visit some mammals as special as the rhino, giraffes, hippos, primates ... and lions have come specifically to greet us !.

THE CLASS OF THE HEDGEHOGS OF THE JOSEP MARIA JUJOL SCHOOL VISITS US

Today the little P5 hedgehog experts visited us at the Zoo.

They have been able to check how their hair stings, how their footprints are, what they eat, how and where they live, the dangers they have ... As experts they already knew that they were nocturnal but the Zoo educator told them that they are also now wintering. The European hedgehogs are free in the Zoo form and are part of the native fauna that inhabits it extending its territory to the Parc de la Ciutadella.

AKUNA MATATA CLASS VISITS THE SAHEL

 

P3 students from Mar Bella school have come to learn a lot about African wildlife, just look at the fantastic name of their class.

Accompanied by a Zoo educator, they visited one by one the animals of the Sahel and the rest of Africa, explaining the most important characteristics of each one, the food, reproduction, families ...

It always accompanies these explanations of biological material and a lot of anecdotes of our animals!

These boys and girls are experts in african animals!

THE ZOO VISITS PAIDEIA SCHOOL

Today the Zoo went to visit the students of the Paideia school who discovered many things from the hand of the Zoo educators who brought biological material that they could see up close.

They have not only learned what animals are like and some of the most important characteristics of each group or how they reproduce but also what they are in danger and the difficulties they have in their habitat.

They have also been told about the conservation programs that are being carried out at the zoo to help them.

It has been a morning full of discoveries and emotions !.

Concepció school visits the turtles!

P3 students already knew a lot about turtles, but today, apart from learning many more with a series of dynamics in which all the boys and girls took part, they were able to have a unique experience. See up close one of the largest turtles in the world, the Aldabra turtle.

Then they approached the giant turtles of the Galapagos and went to the terrarium where they could see the other terrestrial and aquatic turtles.

Sinera School Knows the animals!

First-year students have come to know the animals for their cover, food, reproduction, different ways of life, different habitats ...

They have been able to inspect the biological material of each of the groups of vertebrates to know how to recognize them just by seeing them.

Also as one of the classes was the class of marine animals we stopped at a special point of the Zoo where we explained the cetaceans and the dangers that are in their habitat.

ZOO GOES TO THE OLIVERA SCHOOL

One of the most experienced educators at the Zoo has gone to visit the second graders!

She wasn’t going alone, she was carrying a lot of biological and educational material to explain a lot of things about leopards to these outgoing students !.

It has been a morning full of discoveries and new sensations, while touching the skull or skin of this feline and others with whom they have been able to see the differences in coloration and patterns of the spots.
