OVER 30 YEARS SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE

The Congenital Heart Disease Association (AACIC) has been supporting children and adolescents living with congenital heart disease since 1994, helping them improve their quality of life and that of their families. The Association provides psychosocial and emotional support, as well as guidance both in hospital and during the transition to everyday life. It also raises public awareness of the realities faced by this community and promotes research into the social and family impact of living with congenital heart disease.

Today, more than 20,000 children and adolescents in Catalonia live with congenital heart disease. Every day, they face new challenges as they navigate life with their condition.

Proceeds from the Heart Festival at the Zoo will go towards the A Cor Obert project, which provides psychosocial support to families with children in hospital. The project is run by AACIC in leading Catalan hospitals specialising in paediatric heart conditions.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Zoo!
