We wanted to end the year learning a lot about nature and animals, to be good guardians of nature!

That’s why we’ve traveled all over the continents visiting amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. They have told us many curiosities and the dangers they have in their habitats to survive, all caused by us: humans.

Also that the Zoo exists to try to make many of the animals we have seen, and that do important work in the ecosystem where they live, disappear.

At the Zoo they have animals that have disappeared from their habitat and thanks to the work of the whole Zoos and recovery centers they are getting them to be able to return home. Don't think it's an easy thing: the country's governments, the education of the population are involved ... But do you know what? At the Zoo, they are achieving this with different species from other continents such as the Dorcas gazelle and the Mohor gazelle of Africa and the Montseny newt, the brook turtle, the Mediterranean turtle and the Catalan turtle, among others.

And we wanted, while they were at the Zoo, to do behaviors that they would do in nature, so we helped their caregiversoo keepers during these days, to take care of them by making enrichments: toys with or without food for different animals or throwing food for the whole yard for them to look for ...

We loved meeting them all and also knowing that we from Catalonia can improve the habitats of animals here but also animals from other continents by changing small habits at home! This is great! And, as our Zoo educator says, every little change is important!
