The Pioneers of the Sea
This February 11th, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science has been celebrated around the world, and at the Zoo we are joining in with a special activity over the next few days.
Would you like to discover the adventures of the pioneers of the sea? Come and enjoy the storytelling session we have prepared, based on the Alba Editorial book Inspiring Stories of the Pioneers of the Sea, a book based on the real lives of brave women who explored the unknown, overcame all kinds of obstacles, and created extraordinary inventions. All of them made history, yet very few people know about them. On Sunday, the authors, Elisabet Agea and Silvia Diez, will be joining us.
Through activities like this, we help ensure that new generations have more female role models and learn about women who fought tirelessly to build a better world.
- Days: February 14,15 and 16
- Times:13:30
- Where: Open classroom
In addition, if you wish, you can pick up the instructions at the Zoo entrance to take part in the “Heroines of Science” scavenger hunt, which will allow you to explore the park while discovering women who have left an important mark.
Reservation not necessary!
We sometimes have to make changes to, or even cancel, our activities programme if there are not enough people signed up, or because of the animals’ needs or an unexpected incident.
