Pyramid Tree

Lagunaria patersonii

The lagunaria is a straight-trunked tree with a dense and pyramidal foliage, full of green, blue and grey coriaceous leaves and with flowers that recall those of the hibiscus. It is a native of Norfolk Island, where it grows on lowlands up to 200 metres.

It is popularly known as the "cow itch tree" because the fruit is covered in hairs that can cause rashes in some people.
