Majestic conifer with distinctive horizontal branches. Its leaves are similar to those of pines, but are easily distinguished as they grow in clusters from the same brachyblast and are much shorter.
It originates from Lebanon, where it appears on the national flag. Its wood is one of the strongest and most aromatic and has been used for building since antiquity. Legend has it that, together with the juniper tree, it was used to build the Temple of Solomon.
