Today has been a great day for the Humboldt penguins as these preschoolers have come to visit and learn a lot from them!
On the way we commented on the characteristics of the birds while seeing some that are in the zoo like peacocks calling the differences with the penguins.
Just arriving in front of the penguins, they heard their voice and were lucky enough to see sooooooo close to one of them who was near the glass and had a good time watching the kids and cleaning up. They were blown away by this cute penguin !.
Soon her zoo keeper appeared with a bucket full of fish that we could also see, as it was time for breakfast !.
They have seen how the fish were swallowed and what other birds surrounded them to try to catch some free fish. The Zoo educator explained to them what those birds were and that they had chosen to live in the Zoo, some all year round such as kingfishers and kingfishers. Others only in winter like laughing seagulls.
They have known how many penguins exist and what animals eat them.
Then they did a series of dynamics to learn more about these animals while watching them as their food, their footprint, how they reproduce, where they live ... with the help of biological material that they have been able to see very closely !.
They have also discovered the dangers they face at sea.
They loved the experience and ended up so excited!
