JOAQUIM RUYRA MEETS THE ANIMALS

Secondary school students have learned how to differentiate the different types of vertebrates with biological material that they have been able to touch (under appropriate hygienic measures).

Then they visited them in the company of a Zoo educator and got to know where and how they live, what they eat, how they walk, what role they play in their habitats, what adaptations they have ...

They have also learned what threats they have to overcome to nature and what role zoos and wildlife recovery centers have in conserving these species and preventing their extinction.

JOAN SALVAT PAPASSEÏT VISITS WOLVES

The wolf class of p4 has come to know the Iberian wolves of the Zoo.

With the help of a Zoo educator who has told them many things about wolves living in the wild, they have learned how they live, how they talk, how they have children, how they guard their territory ...

In the photos you can see when Gordo has come to greet us, they have been able to see him up close!

The children have seen that they should not be afraid of wolves and that it is not bad, as some tales say. If not it is an animal that must be protected by the work it does in nature!

IES LA GUINEUETA DO THE EVOLUTION WORKSHOP

4th grade ESO students come to check what the evolution tests are with a lot of biological material that they have at their disposal in each of the tables.

They will also be able to see what evolutionary convergence and divergence in the limbs of different types of vertebrates consist of. How was the passage of water to earth.

And how the skulls have varied as well as the cephalization process in the different vertebrates.

On the other hand they will be able to see the changes in the integuments and the reproduction in the most primitive and modern vertebrates.

PALMERA SCHOOL AND THE TUCANS!

First graders have visited us to learn a lot about toucans from an expert Zoo educator.

They have been able to learn many things about this bird from where it lives, such as its eggs, feathers and beak while looking at biological material.

They have also made some dynamics to know what his footprint is and what he eats by preparing a dish for him.

Then they were able to go see the aviary kitchen, where they prepare the diets for most birds.

PALMERA SCHOOL MAKES THE WORKSHOP OF THE GREAT INVASIONS!

The boys and girls of the two classes of 4rt of primary have premiered our workshop that works, in 4 tables, the invasive species that we have in Catalonia! They are great invasions, often silent !.

To begin with, a small introduction is made to concepts worked on at school with the practical case of the apple snail, seeing invasive species in the Zoo, and the solution to which they have arrived in order to remove it from the ecosystem is requested.

CHEETAHS OF THE PROGRÉS SCHOOL INVESTIGATE THROUGH THE SAVANNAH

P5 cheetahs have researched through the savannah which animals the cheetahs live with, whether they are dangerous to them or not and which ones they would eat.

Suddenly they found a lot of footprints of different animals and had to find those of the cheetah among them all!

These cheetahs have been very good explorers! They have also prepared the dish for the cheetah, be warned that they are carnivores!

And the Zoo educator showed them the skin and skull of a cheetah and told them many curiosities about these animals!

THE PANTERS OF THE PROGÉS SCHOOL EXPLORE IN THE ZOO

The boys and girls of P5 have come to the Zoo looking for the black panthers, they have first gone through the Savannah to see if they found them but there they have seen elephants, giraffes, lions and leopards.

That's when they discovered that panthers are darker leopards !! The Zoo educator has shown them the skins of black panther, leopard and lion, checking the similarities and differences. Also her skull with the fantastic hunter's teeth.

PALMERA SCHOOL VISITS FLAMINGOS!

The first-year students wanted to see the flamingos up close and learn a lot from a Zoo educator who was very well accompanied by a giant flamenco !.

They have seen how they live and where, in Catalonia we also have them and they visit us in the summer!

They have also learned what their eggs are like, how many and where they lay them and what their nests are like (they haven't done them yet, they will have to wait until spring).
