This weekend the Zoo took part in the 3rd Barcelona Culturist Festival.
Throughout the weekend we held workshops run by Julia Fritz, an expert in carpentry, where over 80 children built their own nest box for bats, and learnt how Barcelona Zoo works to preserve these little animals, how we do that and the huge variety of bats that fly round the city.
When the sun sets, daytime animals go and look for places to sleep but other, night-time species start to appear. These include hundreds of birds, dozens of bats and a few hedgehogs. Barcelona Zoo is working to conserve all these animals.
