Today we were visited by third graders to learn about many aspects of vertebrate animals.
They have been able to visit large herbivorous mammals such as the elephant, giraffe and rhino, the main savannah hunter: the lion.
Along the way they have found birds such as flamingos and penguins, very different in many respects that they have been able to see as they move, eat ... And they have seen the largest turtle in the world to tell the reptiles, which they have been able to continue seeing along with amphibians and some fish, in the terrarium.
We cannot fail to explain one of the most endangered amphibians in Western Europe: the Montseny newt that the Zoo has been participating in its conservation and recovery for some years now. As is also the case with the Mediterranean turtle and the brook turtle, among others.
And in this way they have reviewed all the groups of vertebrates at the hands of a Zoo educator who has also explained their curiosities and introduced them to some of the animals they have been seeing !.
It must have been a very special day!
